What is Friendsgiving?

This year, travel may not be possible for family members who need to come from far distances to celebrate Thanksgiving. This year may be a Friendsgiving year! Friendsgiving is a celebration of Thanksgiving with friends, instead of family. Gathering in a small group out of doors or with immediate family, is the way to celebrate this year. Maybe you have a close group of people that you have been socializing with for the past few months, these friends would be perfect to invite to your Friendsgiving dinner.

Easy Entertaining

Skip the fuss and go casual, your friends will still love you and will find your creative entertaining ideas inspiring. Leave the linens in the closet and line the table with butcher paper, set out crayons and let guests doodle and draw during mealtime. Create a centerpiece of photos; include all friends that are gathered at your table. Skip the china and use compostable plates, see if you can make your event waste-free! Have friends bring glass containers so they can take home leftovers to remind them of their festive Friendsgiving.

Plant-based Friendsgiving

Get creative and plan a meal that will delight the senses and allow everyone to taste and experience new flavors. Encourage guests to bring favorite dishes to share or plan a plant-based meal to share with everyone.
